working overtime to meet with increasing demand of Ganesha Idols
prepared from the clay and plaster of Paris, since past decades or
so Ganesha Idols of Kolhapur are even exported to various other
countries.
Since last few days’ streets, reflecting the preparations for
establishment of community Idols in the form of erecting stage and
pandals, cleaning and decorating of houses is symbolizing yet
another activity of this hot happening city. Markets are filled with
decorative articles, electrical lighting garlands for the houses and
traditional silver ornaments for the Ganesha Idol, whole city is
geared up to welcome Lord Ganesha.
From the sunrise of first day of ganesh festival, houses and streets
start singing “Pratham Tula Vandito Ganraya” and as the sun starts
his journey city roads are over crowded with processions and groups
of people taking Ganesha Idols for establishing at mandals and homes
respectively.
